Regional Operations DirectorLocation: Flexible within the North region (with regular travel)Salary: CompetitiveContract Type: PermanentWorking Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-FridayWhat you'll do:As Regional Operations Director, you'll lead the Northern region of our Grounds and Winter Maintenance team at Ground Control. Allowing them to deliver exceptional, high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services for our clients. You'll shape and inspire a high-performing team, drive sustainable growth, and ensure operations are aligned with Ground Control's values and strategic objectives. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on client relationships, team engagement, and regional growth.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of 10-15 direct reports and circa 50-100 colleagues, supported by field teams and subcontractors.
  • Own and manage the regional P&L, ensuring EBITDA targets are achieved through revenue growth, cost control, and margin protection.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving service delivery, quality, and safety standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, reducing complaints and improving client satisfaction (NPS).
  • Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities, including tenders and contract growth.
  • Develop, coach, and manage your team, building a culture of inclusivity, engagement, and high performance.
  • Champion sustainability, environmental, and social value initiatives across the region.
  • Collaborate with central support functions (Finance, People, HSQE, etc.) to ensure compliant and effective operations.
  • Deputise for the National Operations Director when required.
What we're looking for:
  • Proven track record in senior operational leadership, ideally in grounds maintenance, facilities management, or a similar service-led sector.
  • Strong financial management experience, including P&L accountability and budget control.
  • Expertise in driving operational efficiency, service quality, and health & safety compliance.
  • Excellent people leadership skills, with experience coaching and managing large, diverse teams.
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills at a senior level.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align operations with broader business goals.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to deliver sustainable growth.
  • Skilled communicator who leads by example, fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and engagement.
  • Full driving licence with the desire to travel regionally as part of your role
