- Provide tailored support: Work closely with students, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet their individual learning styles and needs.
- Assist with lesson delivery: Collaborate with the SENCo and Class Teachers to help implement and deliver personalized learning plans (PLPs) and educational activities.
- Promote an inclusive environment: Foster a supportive and encouraging classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued and can thrive.
- Monitor and report progress: Keep detailed records of student progress and behavior, communicating regularly with teachers and parents to ensure a consistent support system.
- Manage classroom behavior: Use positive behavior management strategies to help students stay on task and engaged.
- Support personal and social development: Encourage independence and help students develop essential life skills, from communication to social interactions.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
- Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational or care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when facing challenges.
- The ability to be adaptable and flexible in a dynamic environment.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
