- Work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of students with SEN.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, adapting learning materials and activities as needed.
- Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs), tracking progress and reporting on student achievements.
- Assist in creating a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support students with personal care, mobility, and communication needs as required.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of student progress.
- Supervise students during break times and school trips, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Proven experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
- A strong understanding of different learning difficulties and disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, ready to respond to the diverse needs of our students.
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are desirable but not essential.
