
Specification Sales Manager Brick & Masonry

- Field sales position selling a distributed range of bricks and masonry products including pre-fabricated components
- Architectural specification led role
- Initially 100%% of your time selling into and influencing architects, once established in the role 70% architect focussed and 30% dealing with D&B contractors, main contractors and sub contractors
- Working on projects up to £10m
- One established in the role (typically year 3) expected revenue target £3m+
- Currently lots of social housing and residential projects, but can include most sectors; commercial, healthcare, education, leisure etc.
- Typically 36+ customer visits per month
- Big emphasis on utilising our clients' new Clerkenwell showroom for client meetings and when not out on the road visiting customers
- Initially new business development although you will retain all accounts won and will inherit a few existing customers
- Managing the process from specification through to main contractor and ultimately the specialist bricklaying sub contractor
- Must have architectural specification field sales experience
- Exterior building product backgrounds preferred, brick associated would be ideal
- New business mentality, not afraid to pick up the phone to make appointments etc.
- Contacts within architectural practises in London is a massive advantage
- Self-motivated and autonomous
- Experience of manging relationships with D&B, main contractors or bricklaying specialist sub contractors is not essential but may be useful
- Specific knowledge or brick and masonry systems is not essential
- Open to both distribution and manufacturer field sales backgrounds
