They are a forward-thinking school committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThis position is about more than just assisting; it's about making a tangible difference. You will:
  • Support Individual Learning: Work closely with students on their personalised learning plans, adapting activities to their unique needs and learning styles.
  • Facilitate Positive Behaviour: Implement positive behaviour strategies and help create a calm, structured classroom environment where students feel safe and motivated.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Be a vital link between students, teachers, and parents. Your observations and feedback will directly inform a student's progress and support plans.
  • Encourage Social Development: Support students in their interactions with peers, helping them build friendships and develop essential social skills during class time, breaks, and school outings.
  • Provide Holistic Care: Assist with personal care and student well-being as needed, always maintaining the highest standards of dignity and respect.
Who We're Looking ForWe are seeking someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Child DBS on the update service
  • Empathy and Resilience: The ability to connect with students on their level and remain positive and patient, even in challenging moments.
  • Proactive Approach: A keen eye for detail and the initiative to anticipate needs and find creative solutions.
  • Team Spirit: A desire to work collaboratively within a supportive and friendly team, sharing knowledge and celebrating successes together.
  • Relevant Experience: Prior experience in a school, care, or voluntary setting working with children with SEN is highly desirable. A relevant qualification (such as a Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) would be an advantage.
