
Locum Consultant in O&G with a Specialist Interest in Vulval Disease

- On GMC's specialist register or a Specialist Registrar who is within 6 months of being admitted to the GMC's specialist register by date of interview
- MRCOG or equivalent post- graduate qualification
- Other higher degree or diploma (e.g. MD, PhD)
- Clinical training in basic minimal access surgery and outpatient gynaecology procedures o Vulval ATSM/ SITM or other relevant qualification o Advanced labour ward ATSM or core curriculum 2024 Demonstrated ability to independently manage routine benign surgical cases with confidence and competence
- o Vulval Disease SITM o Menopause SITM o Adolescent gynaecology SITM
- Hysteroscopy o Face to face and virtual consultation o Minimal access Gynaecology surgery o Past and Ongoing obstetric on call and caesarean sections experiences in a busy NHS maternity unit are essential
- Ultrasound scanning Colposcopy Vulval disease management Laparoscopy
- Personal integrity and commitment o Flexible approach to cover needs of the service o Empathetic approach both with patients and staff o Ability to conduct difficult conversations o Ability to lead teams and change processes o Understanding the need for and practicing accurate and prompt medical record keeping
- Familiar with current national initiatives particularly in relation to women's health
- Awareness of the business targets of the service and an understanding of the Consultant role within these
- Understanding the need for and practicing accurate activity recording and clinical coding
- Management o f team or programme or project
- Experience of undergraduate and post-graduate teaching
- HEE accredited educational supervisors' course
- Experience of educational supervision, teaching skills.
- Evidence of contribution to effective quality improvement and clinical risk management
- RCA and Human factors training
- Understanding of principles and application of clinical research
- Publication of peer reviewed papers
- Ability to communicate with clarity and intelligently in written and spoken English. IT skills and computer literacy
- Computer skills course/certificate
