Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Haematologist. The post is advertised as full-time but applicants seeking a part-time post will be considered.The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis and continuing care of planned and emergency haematology patients.Applicants must have full GMC registration with a license to practice plus MRCP or equivalent, FRCPath, on the specialist register or within 6 months of Haematology CCT at the time of interview and have experience of managing patients within the area of special interest.Main duties of the jobPlease refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for further details around the role and main responsibilities.About usHomerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is committed to remaining a high performing and flourishing organisation serving the population of Hackney. These specialist services include haemoglobinopathy, obstetrics, neonatology, foetal medicine, fertility, neuro-rehabilitation, bariatric surgery, and asthma and allergy services.The haematology department is a specialist haemoglobinopathy centre serving over 400 patients with sickle cell disease and a small number of patients with Thalassemia. A wide range of malignant and benign conditions are diagnosed and managed by the team, whilst providing level 1 care. A specialist MPN service with an advanced nurse practitioner has now also been established.   • Experience in the provision of a blood transfusion service
  • Excellent clinical skills in Haematology haemato-oncology
