
Controls Engineer

- Oversee the full controls lifecycle, from architecture and algorithm design to on-board commissioning.
- Maintain the system architecture in linking sensors, effectors and core processors
- Own and evolve control algorithms, ensure reliability, ease of use and performance & ease of use for operators
- Commissioning onboard vessels, troubleshooting hardware and software end to end.
- Capture & manage system requirements, securing stakeholder buy in & traceability from design through to in-service support
- Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams, integrating mechanical, electrical & software components
- To Lead a controls engineering team
- Key control-system architecture expertise covering sensor/effector integration and scalable designs
- Have hands on experience, with at least two of IP
- Have automation & in-service commissioning experience within marine, industrial or autonomous systems
- Human-Machine interface (HMI) design & problem solving skills
- Willingness to travel globally for sea trials, factory testing and monthly company meetings
- Knowledge of maritime regulations & standards desirable
- Degree qualified in Control Engineering/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline - Hold Chartered status
- Deploying advanced control algorithms & AI development (eg Matlab/Simulink, model-based design) to embedded hardware, PLCs or CPUs
