- Are you confident in diagnosing complex vehicle faults using OEM diagnostic tools, fault codes, wiring diagrams and technical manuals?

- Deliver expert mechanical and technical solutions via multiple communication channels
- Use your diagnostic toolkit to influence roadside deployment decisions and optimise job outcomes
- Provide live, dynamic diagnostic assistance to roadside teams-helping mechanics and patrols achieve first-time fixes
- Support contact centre teams with remote mechanical resolutions to reduce unnecessary attendances
- Maintain and enhance the RAC's technical knowledge base with your mechanic's perspective
- Occasionally support at roadside or other office locations when needed
- NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Engineering (essential)
- Master Technician qualification or equivalent experience (desired)
- High-voltage EV systems qualification (desired)
- Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, fault finding and repair ideally in a workshop or roadside setting
- Familiarity with OEM diagnostic tools and software used by mechanics and technicians
- Strong communication skills and a methodical, problem-solving approach
- Understanding of roadside operations and deployment systems (Desired)
- A proactive mindset and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, mechanic-led environment
- 4 on, 4 off shift pattern between the core hours of 7am-9pm. As the RAC operates 24/7 to support our customers, there may be occasions where we ask for flexibility to provide support outside of these core hours during periods of exceptional demand.
