The RoleAs a Prison Social Worker, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation of offenders. You'll be responsible for:
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of prisoners' needs, including risk of re-offending and welfare concerns.
  • Developing and implementing care plans that support personal growth and rehabilitation.
  • Providing one-to-one counseling and group therapy sessions.
  • Collaborating with other prison staff, including psychologists, prison officers, and chaplains, to ensure a holistic approach to rehabilitation.
  • Preparing reports and assessments for parole boards and other agencies.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Social Worker.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • SA/07 trained
