LOCATIONCardiff KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial support and risk management across our high-voltage connection projects, ensuring financial control from tender through to project completion.Working closely with our Design, Project and Delivery teams, you will ensure robust project pricing, manage contractual and cost risks, handle variations and valuations, and contribute to driving commercial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.Your role will cover all stages, from cost planning and procurement to contract administration, final accounts, and post-project review - ensuring optimal performance versus budget while maintaining commitment to quality and client service.
  • Provide commercial oversight and cost management across multiple ICP and private network projects (11-33kV, occasionally up to 132kV).
  • Prepare and analyse project tenders and sub-contract packages, ensuring best value procurement.
  • Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including the timely management of CEs, EWNs, PMIs, valuations and change control.
  • Maintain accurate and timely Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and cash flow forecasting.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate cost and contractual risks at each project stage.
  • Support the preparation of applications for payment and agreement of final accounts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing completed projects and feeding lessons learned into future works.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (internal teams, clients, DNOs/IDNOs, subcontractors) to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, health & safety, and relevant legislation (including CDM and ESQCR where applicable).
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREDEssential: * Proven Quantity Surveying experience within utilities, energy, renewables, civils, or related construction sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in cost control, forecasting, CVR, and change management.
Desirable: * Background in ICP/DNO/IDNO or high-voltage projects.
  • Experience with software such as CEMAR, Causeway, COINS, or Eque2.
  • Professional qualification (Degree/HNC in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management); MRICS).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
