Newport Pagnell Medical Centre and pleased to be looking to welcome an experienced nurse to lead the Integrated Clinical team on a part-time basis for 25 hours per week.Alongside your lead nurse role, you will also undertake one day carrying out a clinical session working alongside your colleagues.We would welcome a candidate who not only has experience and solid clinical and management skills, but who has an interest and vision for service development and delivery sustainability in the future.Main duties of the jobThe role will see you supporting the team in the provision of an effective, efficient, patient centred care in the primary healthcare setting. You will lead on infection control in the practice and be responsible for managing the non-medical prescribing team.About usNewport Pagnell Medical Centre is a large GP training practice committed to providing excellent primary health care services with a strong emphasis on staff training and development. Based in excellent premises, our committed teams deliver a wide range of general medical services.We are a large training practice based in the town of Newport Pagnell with another surgery in the Willen area.The practice nursing team forms part of our integrated nursing team working alongside our community nursing team, community matrons, urgent care team and specialist nursing team.Other information:

  • Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
ExperienceEssential
  • Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, assisting with minor surgery, dressing and wound care, and recording spirometry.
  • Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice.
  • Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions.
  • Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS.
