Acting as a safeguard for the wider Propositions team, this role provides technical sign-off, identifies regulatory opportunities and threats, and ensures propositions deliver demonstrable customer value. The role builds a strong foundation for technical excellence, enabling safe and compliant proposition design and evolution across the portfolio.Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Sign-Off
Approve the technical integrity of all new and evolving propositions, ensuring alignment with internal standards and external expectations. Consult with wider teams to maintain objectivity and rigour. * Regulatory Opportunity ScanningIdentify emerging regulatory trends, opportunities, and threats. Feed insights into the monthly Proposition Forum to inform strategic decision-making. * Customer-Centric AssuranceEnsure all propositions deliver demonstrable customer value alongside technical compliance. Act as a critical friend to proposition leads to maintain customer focus. * Risk Identification & MitigationHighlight and quantify risks across business, customer, and colleague dimensions. Ensure mitigation strategies are in place and flag any risk acceptances for wider team approval. * Governance & DocumentationEnsure propositions meet internal policy and product standards. Maintain high-quality technical documentation through collaboration with proposition and communications teams and reporting across all proposition areas. * Cross-Functional CollaborationEmbed the team across all proposition leads and work closely with Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Product, and Distribution to ensure seamless proposition development.Team StructureLeads a team of four technical experts, each aligned to a proposition lead:
  • Aligned to ECommerce Enablement and Platform Strategy
  • Aligned to Investment Propositions
  • Aligned to Savings and Retirement
  • Aligned to Guaranteed Income and Insurance
Key Focus Areas
  • Completion of a comprehensive sweep of all existing technical propositions to establish a baseline and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Delivery of demonstrable evidence of customer value across all propositions reviewed or developed.
  • Implementation of enhanced technical reporting standards, improving clarity, consistency, and usability.
  • Establishment of a quick and efficient technical build process for new propositions, enabling faster time-to-market.
  • Identification and articulation of regulatory and market opportunities, feeding into the monthly Proposition Forum.
  • Development of a prioritised technical roadmap to guide the team’s focus and support the wider change agenda.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience in technical proposition development within financial services.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, with the ability to identify emerging opportunities and threats.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with experience managing technical teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical language for diverse audiences.
  • Skilled in balancing technical excellence with pragmatic decision-making, ensuring both compliance and commercial viability.
