The Financial Controller will oversee the financial operations of a manufacturing business, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all accounting processes. This role requires a strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage full accounting function, including bookkeeping, monthly management accounts, and annual financial statements
  • Oversee banking and financing relationships (loans, invoice discounting, asset finance, budget modelling)
  • Handle invoicing and cash collection processes
  • Manage key purchasing activities, including utilities and capital expenditure
  • Oversee payroll operations
  • Provide oversight for IT systems and infrastructure
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Prepare board documents and participate in board meetings
  • Lead a team of 3-4 direct reports
  • Ad hoc responsibilities as per business and role growth

  • Accounting qualification (or equivalent experience), with 3-5 years post-qualification experience - ACCA / ACA / CIMA
  • FP&A background with strong commercial acumen
  • Proactive and ambitious, eager to grow the role and contribute to business development

  • A willingness to work cross-functionally to drive business improvement
  • Experience in manufacturing / engineering settings / small batch, or project-based businesses
  • Proficient in SAGE 200 and Excel; Power BI experience is desirable
