We're looking for a Planning & Projects Controller to join our growing team and play a key role in shaping the future of the UK's energy infrastructure.We're looking for someone to lead improvements to our planning and reporting systems, helping teams make better decisions by making information easier to access, more accurate, and more useful. You'll work closely with different departments to make sure the system supports day-to-day operations and long-term goals.What you'll be doingImproving Our Planning System (StruMIS MRP)
  • Make the system easier to use and more reliable.
  • Add new tools and features to help automate tasks.
  • Work with teams to understand what reports and dashboards they need.
  • Plan and prioritise system updates that make a real difference.
  • Ensure reports are clear, timely, and helpful for production, planning, and commercial teams.
  • Collaborate with IT and software providers to upgrade and customise the system.
Training and Support
  • Create and run training sessions to help staff use the system confidently.
  • Offer ongoing help and advice to users.
  • Gather feedback to improve future training and system updates.
Reporting and Performance
  • Build dashboards and reports that show how the business is performing.
  • Keep an eye on system performance and make sure reports stay relevant.
  • Work with others to confirm key performance indicators (KPIs) match business goals.
  • Help manage changes when systems or processes are updated.
Production Planning Support
  • Step in to support the Production Planner when needed.
  • Help keep production schedules up to date and communicate changes clearly.
Who we're looking forMust-Have Skills
  • Experience working with planning systems (ideally StruMIS or similar).
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and how information supports decision-making.
  • Able to turn business needs into practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfortable working with data and making it easy to understand.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience delivering training and supporting users.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI or Crystal Reports.
  • Understanding of how to add new features or connect systems.
  • Enthusiasm for improving digital tools and processes.
