The roleWe are currently seeking an experienced Section 20 Consultation Officer to join our Section 20 Consultation team.As a Section 20 Consultation Officer you will report to the Section 20 Consultation Manager. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality service to service charge payers and other stakeholders. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and teams across Southern Housing to support and contribute to delivering a high-quality and seamless Section 20 consultation service.This is a hybrid working role with an expectation of at least three days working within Farringdon.What you'll do
  • To works as part of the Section 20 Consultation team responsible for the preparing and issuing appropriate Section 20 notices, including Qualifying Long-Term Agreements (QLTA).
  • To regularly calculate and issue Section 20b notices within statutory timeframes to fully protect the financial position.
  • Work with the Service Charge team in preparation of Section 20b notices for works or services that may need to be deferred.
  • Delivering a customer-centric service to service charge payers, dealing with their written observations, resolving customer queries and working with internal colleagues to ensure the resolution of complaints, disputes, and dissatisfaction.
  • Supporting the building and embedding of the systems and processes required to support the delivery of Section 20 consultation.
  • Work with the Section 20 Consultation Manager on preparing monthly, quarterly and annual information and reports.
  • Maintaining strong business partnering relationships with key stakeholders and to provide accurate advice and information about Section 20 consultation, QLTA's and Section 20b notices to facilitate the decision-making process.
What you need
  • Experienced of legal aspects of leasehold law and regulations, especially as it relates to Section 20 and 20b notices.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to control and deliver a range of tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of different stakeholders whilst maintaining customer service excellence.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Excellent financial and numerical skills.
