An exciting opportunity has become available to join our practice as a Medical Receptionist. We are currently recruiting for 40 hours which is full time across 4 days, the working hours are 7.30am-18.00pmWe operate from two sites based in central Middlesbrough and NunthorpeWe are a friendly patient centred practice focussing on excellent patient care with an expanding list size of just under 17,000 patientsAs the first point of contact for our patients this is an important role. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe following are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system.b. Process telephone and requests for eConsults.c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriatelyd. Signpost patients to the correct servicee. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agenciesf. Read code data on Systm Oneg. Photocopy documentation as requiredh. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as requiredi. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessaryj. Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative teamk. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient mannerl. Carry out system searches as requestedm. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all timesn. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boardso. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requestedp.
