A thriving and supportive primary special school in North Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Complex Needs Teacher to join their team. This rewarding role offers the chance to work with pupils who have a wide range of additional needs, including PMLD, Autism, communication difficulties, and complex medical needs.As a Complex Needs Teacher, you will deliver a creative, adapted primary curriculum to small groups of pupils, ensuring that learning is accessible, engaging, and meaningful for every child. You will be supported by a skilled team of teaching assistants, therapists, and a compassionate leadership team, who all work together to provide the very best for pupils.Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering personalised lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils.
- Using a range of strategies and resources to support communication and sensory learning.
- Leading a team of teaching assistants to ensure effective in-class support.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.
- Supporting pupils with their social, emotional, and physical development.
- Creating a safe and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive.
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Experience teaching pupils with complex needs in a SEND setting (desirable).
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting PMLD, MLD, and Autism.
- A creative, flexible approach to teaching and planning.
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children with special educational needs.
