We are seeking an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2025.About the Role:As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom to deliver pre-set lessons during teacher absences – maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring students remain on task. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a secondary setting.Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the class teacher
  • Ensuring students are engaged, focused, and following the set work
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Supporting students with questions or challenges during lessons
  • Reporting back to teaching staff regarding student behaviour and progress
Ideal Candidates Will Have:We’re open to a wide range of backgrounds – this role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience working with young people.Essential:
  • Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A flexible and proactive attitude
  • A genuine interest in working with secondary-aged students
Desirable (but not essential):
  • Previous experience in an education or youth work setting
  • Degree-level education or relevant qualification
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour strategies
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
