Work with the transfusion team and Apollo programme to implement the Blood Transfusion IT solution3. Support morphology reporting and review at the Royal Brompton site4. Support the general haematology service including consultative reviews5. Support fulfilment of CQUIN requirements for electronic referrals and GP advice and guidance6. Cover of offsite Royal Brompton haematology colleagues7. Participate in the out of hours rota covering the Harefield and Brompton sites out of hours8. Join the gen haem -sickle attending rota at GSTTMain duties of the jobThe post-holder will be accountable to Dr Nita Prasannan, clinical lead for sickle, general haematology and transfusion.This post will be covering thegeneral haematology consultative service on the Brompton site, have laboratory management responsibilities and also be active in the transfusion team. This new post will cross cover their colleague haematologist based at Harefield who leads for haemastasis and thrombosis and will enable the 1:4 off site out of hours cover for the Harefield and Brompton sites.This post will also provide laboratory support reviewing blood films and abnormal blood results and providing appropriate advice. They will also work with the other general haematology consultants to vet referrals and will share the provision of the 'Advice and Guidance' service for GPs (20-30 queries per week) and electronic referral systems (EVS, ERS) in line with the mandatory CQUIN targets.
