This position is for a full-time Laundry Instructor to work within prison education at HMP Millsike.
The role will involve supervising offenders in a busy laundry and textiles workshop, ensuring safe practices while supporting them to gain transferable skills that can be used on release.
- Lead and supervise daily laundry and textile activities, ensuring safety, structure, and productivity.
- Motivate and support learners as they complete tasks such as laundry services, sewing repairs, and textile projects.
- Set work schedules and monitor standards to ensure quality across all workshop outputs.
- Promote employability skills, teamwork, and positive behaviours through structured daily routines.
- Manage stock, tools, and materials in line with strict prison security and safety protocols.
- Work collaboratively with custodial staff and skills coaches to support rehabilitation and personal development.
