- FRCS (Urol) or equivalent
- CCST (or within 6 months of date of interview)
- Higher degree, e.g. MD/PhD
- Widespread broad-based knowledge of all aspects of Urological surgery
- Higher Specialist Training in Urological surgery
- Experience in training undergraduates and postgraduates
- Experience in general urology
- Experience in Emergency Urology
- Experience in General Urology & Stone Surgery (flexible URS)
- Experience of ESWL service development
- Experience of robotic Surgery of Renal Upper Tract
- Able to provide evidence of clinical audit and quality improvement and demonstrate understanding of impact and challenges this brings
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and awareness of current and future NHS challenges and strategy.
- Ability to lead and support team members via collaboration and discussion
- Experience of audit management and QI
- Ability to demonstrate personal experience of clinical research and describe and discuss findings and impact.
- PhD/ MD Thesis
- Experience of research, presentations to learned societies on topics related to surgery
- Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical/surgical problems
- Ability to supervise post graduate research
- Demonstrate number of first name publications in indexed journals, over a variety of subjects relevant to this post
- Excellent presentational and verbal skills
- Ability to motivate and develop medical trainees
- Ability to manage time well to deliver objectives of the Division
- Awareness of best practice through evidence-based medicine, and personal drive to enact the change with the team
- IT skills and computer literacy
