- Classroom Management: Supervise whole classes during Teacher absences, ensuring students are focused and on task with the pre-prepared work.
- Behaviour and Conduct: Maintain a purposeful and constructive learning environment by managing student behaviour in line with school policies.
- Student Support: Respond to student questions and provide guidance on procedures and tasks, without actively teaching the curriculum.
- Administrative Duties: Take attendance, collect completed work, and provide feedback to the absent teacher on student conduct and any issues that arose.
- Emergency Response: Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's established policies and procedures.
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or similar setting.
- Child DBS on update service.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour control skills.
- The ability to work flexibly and adapt to different subjects and age groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
