- Supervise Lessons: Oversee classes during the short-term absence of the regular Teacher.
- Manage Student Behaviour: Ensure a positive and productive learning environment by managing student conduct in line with the school's behaviour policy.
- Deliver Pre-Set Work: Communicate the lesson plan and work provided by the absent Teacher and ensure students stay on task.
- Provide Support: Respond to student questions about procedures and help them stay focused on the work.
- Reporting: Provide clear and accurate feedback to the class Teacher about the lesson and any issues that arose.
- Administrative Tasks: Carry out administrative duties such as taking attendance and collecting completed work.
- A confident and authoritative presence with the ability to command a classroom.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Resilience and a calm, patient approach to managing a variety of situations.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is highly desirable.
