If so, we want you to join an inclusive school in York, North Yorkshire, to work asan Additional Needs Teaching Assistant, starting as soon as possible.Additional Needs Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with mental, emotional, and social health concerns.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with diverse Special Educational Needs.
- Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
- Deliver intervention programmes to individuals and small groups.
- Assessing student progress and providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
- Supervising students during activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Support communication through verbal and non-verbal techniques.
- Have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Possess strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of social, emotional, and mental health needs..
- Hold relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) or have transferable skills.
- Have an understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to the welfare of children.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
