OverviewWe are seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to join our International General Accounting team in Glasgow.Reporting to the Assistant Accounting Manager, you will play a vital part of the Management Accounting function, primarily supporting entities within the EMEA region. As part of a team, you will ensure the accurate and timely accounting of monthly Management Accounts. Additionally, you will contribute to process improvements and support various accounting-related tasks and project work.
How you'll make an impact
- Collaborating with regional finance teams (primarily EMEA) on results and reporting.
- Supporting the Change and Integrations Team with integrating newly acquired entities within the EMEA region.
- Facilitating integration to central group processes and improving process and record quality with EMEA accounting colleagues.
- Provide support to local teams within the EMEA region in preparation of month end reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts.
- Assisting local teams in the EMEA region with month-end reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
- Coordinating with the off-shore team for month-end journal postings and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Providing support for queries from the Finance Business Partner and other departments.
- Assisting with monthly and quarterly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow commentary.
- Performing ad-hoc duties involving collaboration with EMEA colleagues.
- Centralisng accounting tasks from regional finance teams to India and Glasgow.
- Driving change to enhance department and team performance.
- Ensuring full compliance with SOX requirements.
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CA/CIMA or equivalent)
- US GAAP & SOX experience advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
