Most of the world’s global non-ferrous futures business is conducted on the LME’s three trading platforms totalling $18 trillion, 178 million lots and 4 billion tonnes with a market open interest high of 1.8 million lots in 2024.The metals community uses the LME, an HKEX Group company, as a venue to transfer or take on price risk, as a physical market of last resort and as the provider of transparent global reference prices.Overall Purpose of RoleYou will join the product team at the core of delivering high quality, innovative and relevant solutions to the LME with the purpose of:
In conjunction with the business owner, sets the product vision, objectives and outcomes
Accountable for maximizing the value of the product, the delivery of the product goal and product backlog
Represent the needs of the many stakeholders across LME and LME Clear
Has the mandate to make business decisions where impact is contained within the product
Owns the product backlog prioritisation and sequencing, ensuring the team implements the right requirements
Accountable for all stages of the delivery
ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Business Owner and Service Owner and other stakeholders to define the roadmap with the key product goals and objectives needed to deliver the solution. Build and maintain a healthy backlogConstantly manage priorities to ensure work is focused, with effective management and refinement of the product backlogProvide vision and direction to the delivery teams; ensure that the team always has a healthy backlog of workProvide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint GoalsEnsure scope is always clear and understood and support teams to elaborate and break-down featuresLead the scoping of product releases; set the expectation for delivery of new functionalitiesEvaluate the work generated by the delivery teams against Acceptance Criteria and desired outcomesCollaborate and coordinate with other Product Owners as applicableManage stakeholdersCreate user stories, epics, and features and acceptance criteriaGathering requirements and writing high level requirementsKey participant in Sprint Planning and agreeing content for each SprintDesirable Academic and Professional Qualifications RequiredAgile Leadership TrainingCSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) – Product Owner CertificationPSPO (Professional Scrum Product Owner) preferable not essentialRequired Knowledge and Level of ExperienceExperience working as a Product Owner / Product ManagerExperience working in an exchange or financial organisationSound knowledge in IT, management, and agile software development.Experience of using agile methods and frameworks e.g. Scrum, Kanban and Lean as a minimumSkills set and Core Competencies Required for RoleCommunication and leadership skillsStrategic planning and thinkingOutcome-driven orientationAssertive to help maintain the vision in challenging situationsBe able to motivate a teamStakeholder management – ability to communicate with different groups of individuals, be able to reach a consensus and have a high degree of diplomacyAnalytical and problem-solving skillsThe LME is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
