- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs): You will create and adapt lesson plans to meet the specific academic, social, and emotional needs of students with SEN.
- Deliver specialized instruction: You'll use a range of teaching methods and resources to support students, both in a dedicated SEN setting and within a mainstream classroom.
- Assess and monitor progress: You will regularly assess student development, track their progress toward their goals, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with a team: Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to each student's education.
- Create a positive learning environment: You will foster an inclusive, respectful, and encouraging classroom culture where students feel safe and confident.
- Maintain accurate records: Keep detailed records of student progress, challenges, and achievements for reporting and planning purposes.
- A qualified teacher status (QTS): You must hold a recognized Teaching qualification.
- Relevant experience: A proven track record of teaching students with a variety of special educational needs.
- Expertise in SEN: A deep understanding of different learning difficulties, disabilities, and associated teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
