- Provide advice and guidance to the AML team on complex and/or high risk (PEP / EDD / Adverse / Sanctions) AML cases in accordance with the Regulations.
- Review and approve higher risk (PEP / EDD / Adverse / Sanctions) cases carried out by the AML team in accordance with the regulations.
- Act as escalation point for the AML team to liaise with internal stakeholders (Fee Earners / Admin Reps) and clients / solicitors to resolve issues.
- Oversight of a small team ('pod') to ensure CDD checks are conducted within the time frames in accordance with Savills UK procedures and compliance management.
- Obtain and review information for corporates and private individuals from relevant sources (e.g. Companies House) and determine further information requirements.
- Provide AML training to the wider Savills business and the AML Team
- Act as a point of contact for Savills business divisions, including routine meetings with business heads, proactive management of business escalations, dealing with business queries, fostering a good relationship with the divisions, providing advice, guidance and training to the business, providing bespoke case management solutions, etc
- Provide line management to members of the AML team, including regular catch ups and feedback, support through probation, appraisals and ongoing development.
- Complete tasks for and provide support to AML Compliance managers / Head of Compliance / MLRO and liaise with them through to resolution.
- Balance internal procedures and business needs to assess and approve AML processing team risk based approach requests in accordance with the Regulations.
- Produce in depth written analysis and create detailed reports concerning AML and CDD.
- Maintain working knowledge of the current Money Laundering Regulations and their application within the team.
- Proactively implement changes in AML procedures in line with changes to Regulations
- Proactively identify potential enhancements in AML team processes and procedures.
- Take an active role in the recruitment process for the AML team including conducting interviews and participating in recruitment assessment days.
- Undertake general day to day management of the AML Compliance team and promptly escalate any relevant matters to Compliance Management / Head of Compliance.
- At least 5 years' experience in AML/CDD/KYC
- Previous experience of managing a small team
- 2 years' experience of QA / sign-off to include high risk cases
- End to end AML experience
- Strong knowledge of regulations
- Strong entity type experience
- Proven experience working across multiple international jurisdictions
- Knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, Terrorism Act 2000, and Joint Money Laundering Steering Group Guidance.
- A working knowledge of HMRC's AML guidance is desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
