This is a chance to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of students with diverse needs, helping them to flourish academically and personally.Roles and ResponsibilitiesAs a permanent SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of our school community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including ASD, dyslexia, and ADHD.
- IEP Implementation: Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to help deliver the goals outlined in each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Social and Emotional Development: Assist students in developing crucial social skills, self-confidence, and a positive mindset.
- Classroom Assistance: Prepare learning materials, adapt resources to suit specific needs, and help maintain a calm and organized classroom environment.
- Communication: Serve as a key link between the student, Teacher, and parents, providing regular feedback on progress and well-being.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is essential.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of various learning challenges and effective support strategies.
- Personal Qualities: Patience, a positive attitude, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.
- Teamwork: Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
