
Transport Planner

- Build and schedule Primary (domestic and international) and XDC (next-day) deliveries, ensuring timely and cost-effective transport solutions
- Work closely with warehouses, transport execution teams, and external partners to manage all aspects of the delivery process
- Coordinate additional internal and external customer movements, including pallet transfers, supplier collections, and backhaul operations
- Promote and adhere to safety regulations and company policies within all planning activities
- Analyse transport data to identify areas for improvement and drive informed decision-making
- Proactively address any scheduling issues or service challenges, ensuring excellent service levels
- Previous experience in a transport planning or logistics environment is desirable
- Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (e.g., SAP TM, TMS, Microlise, IDS, or WMS) and a good understanding of UK geography
- Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Competency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of transport legislation, including drivers’ hours regulations, would be beneficial
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and adjust to changing circumstances, particularly during peak periods
