The post holder will be expected to provide clinical leadership to our nursing and support staff alongside the existing Clinical Sister. We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated individual who has excellent communication skills, and has the ability, drive and enthusiasm to motivate the team to provide high quality patient care. You will need to have good organisational and interpersonal skills, the ability to demonstrate leadership and a sound understanding of diabetes.The Clinic Sister/Charge Nurse role involves staff education and student teaching. Collaborative working is also a fundamental part of the role which involves working with the consultants, dieticians, diabetes CNS and podiatrists who are all based in the clinic.Main duties of the jobYou will be required to support the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse, acting as a deputy when the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse is absent.You will also provide effective support and leadership to staff, patients and carers on the ward.
  • Delivery of clinical practice is based on policies, guidelines and evidence base to improve the outcomes and experiences of patients.
  • Professional clinical advice and judgements will be provided to the multi-professional care team in relation to patient care and achieving positive patient outcomes and experiences.
  • Safe, effective high quality care will be delivered with compassion, dignity and respect.
  • Documentation will be accurate, legible and timely relating to current patient recording systems, both written and electronic.
  • Information Governance will be adhered to and action will be taken to address deficits and or escalated appropriately.
