In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a seamless and productive learning experience for students when their regular teacher is absent. - Supervise classes across different subjects and year groups during short-term teacher absences.
- Manage student behavior effectively, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment in line with school policies.
- Deliver pre-planned lessons, ensuring students remain on task and focused on their work.
- Provide support to students with their learning, answering questions and helping them to understand the assigned tasks.
- Report back to the Head of Department or senior staff on the progress and behavior of the class.
- Maintain classroom order and ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Excellent communication, a confident and authoritative presence, and strong organizational skills.
- Attributes: A flexible and resilient attitude, with the ability to adapt to new situations and subjects quickly.
- Commitment: Punctuality, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Qualifications: While not essential, a degree or relevant qualifications are a plus.
