- Develop and implement tailored learning plans: Create and deliver individualized educational plans (IEPs) that address students' specific academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Adapt curriculum and resources: Modify mainstream curriculum and teaching materials to make them accessible and engaging for students with SEN.
- Conduct assessments: Use various assessment tools to accurately identify student needs, monitor progress, and report on their development to parents and colleagues.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team: Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists (e.g., speech, occupational), and parents to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to student support.
- Foster an inclusive classroom: Cultivate a classroom atmosphere where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to learn and grow.
- Manage classroom dynamics: Employ effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement to create a productive and respectful learning environment.
- A genuine passion for and deep understanding of special education.
- A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field, with a relevant SEN teaching qualification (e.g., QTS with SEN specialization).
- Proven experience teaching students with a variety of special educational needs (e.g., ASD, dyslexia, ADHD, physical disabilities).
- Strong analytical skills to assess student needs and track progress effectively.
