About The RoleFDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Delivery Manager to work for our client within the transport sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Manchester.Our client is seeking a Senior Delivery Manager to join their dynamic team. This is a critical leadership role for someone who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and is committed to enabling high-performing teams and delivering exceptional results across a major product area or business function.As a Senior Delivery Manager, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of complex programmes and services. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams-including engineering, product, UX, research, and policy-to ensure alignment on strategy and priorities. Your role will span delivery leadership, financial accountability, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement, all while fostering a culture of collaboration and agility. This is more than a delivery oversight role-it's a strategic position that will shape how they build, deliver, and scale innovative services.Responsibilities
  • Shape and maintain a forward-looking delivery roadmap aligned with business priorities
  • Lead the full delivery lifecycle from discovery through to delivery and iteration, ensuring high-quality outcomes
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical teams to drive alignment and decision-making
  • Champion delivery best practices and support teams in enhancing ways of working, sharing insights, and embedding standards
  • Define, track, and act upon key performance indicators to monitor delivery health and inform decision-making
  • Own programme budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, financial accountability, and value for money
  • Partner with business and technology teams to ensure smooth service launches that deliver tangible value
  • Lead agile ceremonies across multiple initiatives, coach teams on agile principles, and ensure consistent delivery rhythms
  • Proactively identify and resolve key blockers, removing impediments to progress and facilitating clear pathways to success
  • Lead the creation and evolution of business cases throughout the project lifecycle, embedding strategic alignment and best practices
