- Individual and Small Group Support: Provide one-to-one and small group assistance to students with Special Educational Needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Tailored Learning: Work closely with the class teacher and SEN Coordinator to implement individual education plans (IEPs), adapting resources and activities to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Pastoral Care: Offer emotional and social support, helping students to build confidence, self-esteem, and positive relationships with peers and staff.
- Behavioral Support: Assist in managing and addressing challenging behaviors in a calm and consistent manner, promoting a positive and respectful learning atmosphere.
- Communication & Collaboration: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals, providing regular feedback on student progress and well-being.
- Resource Creation: Help to create and prepare engaging and accessible learning materials tailored to individual student requirements.
- Proven experience of working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or support setting.
- A solid understanding of different special educational needs and disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting others.
- The ability to be proactive, flexible, and adaptable to the varying needs of the students and the school.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching and Learning Support) are desirable but not essential.
