Benefits: Company car or Car AllowanceWe are seeking a results-driven Engineering Manager with strong experience in Bus and Coach Engineering to join a leading transport operator in the Heathrow and surrounding areas. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance across a diverse fleet of buses and coaches.
Reporting directly to senior management, you will oversee the engineering function, leading a dedicated team to deliver cost-effective service, exceptional reliability, and full compliance with DVSA and Health & Safety standards.Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager
- Lead, motivate and manage the Engineering team, ensuring training, engagement and performance standards are met.
- Control and manage engineering budgets, delivering on cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with DVSA regulations, including inspections, servicing, MOTs and vehicle presentation.
- Oversee the effective use of diagnostic equipment, engineering tools and support systems.
- Develop and implement strategies to support operational needs and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager in the PCV (bus/coach) sector.
- Recognised engineering qualification (e.g. Level 3 HGV City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent).
- NEBOSH qualified, with strong Health & Safety knowledge.
- Excellent understanding of DVSA standards and compliance processes.
- Strong IT, organisational and leadership skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends or unsocial hours when required.
- Certificate of Professional Competence (Transport Manager) or working towards it.
- Previous experience as a named individual on an Operator’s Licence.
