
Advanced Nurse Practitioner

- Managing patients presenting with a range of acute and chronic medical conditions, providing subject matter expert advice.
- Be an extended and supplementary prescriber, adhering to extant guidance.
- Requesting and interpreting pathology services as necessary.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records in conjunction with extant legislation.
- Ensuring SNOWMED codes are used effectively.
- Supporting the team in dealing with clinical emergencies.
- Contributing to practice targets including QOF and IIF.
- Chaperoning patients where necessary.
- Undertaking consultations face to face/telephone/video call and home visits.
- Being responsible for the implementation of an effective immunisation programme.
- Be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Have a post-graduate diploma or degree for Advanced Practice Qualification.
- Have a masters degree in the relevant area of expertise.
- Is working at a masters degree or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area specific clinical competencies
- Be a qualified independent nurse prescriber, on the NMC register.
- Have the ability to work within own scope of practice and understand when to refer to a GP.
- Have the ability to problem solve.
- Have knowledge of health promotion strategies
- Understand the requirement for PGDs and associated policy.
- Be motivated and a forward-thinker.
- Be a problem solver.
- Be sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations.
- Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure in stressful situations.
- Be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
