Gibson Lane Practice requires a part time medical records summariser for 25 hours per week on a fixed term basis for 3 months. Working hours can be flexibleTo be responsible for the read coding of relevant information into patients electronic healthcare records on ourclinical system, adhering to the organisation coding policy. In addition, the post holder will also support the multi-disciplinary team, providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of the organisation.Main duties of the jobThe following are the core responsibilities of the Medical Summariser. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:a. Reviewing records and accurately producing a summary of the patients medical historyb. Accurately SNOMED CT coding data on the clinical IT systemc. Reviewing progress of summarising, ensuring practice targets are achievedd. Review all clinical letters ensuring they are processed appropriately in line with extant protocolse. File and store records as requiredf. Photocopy documentation as requiredg. Action all incoming correspondence, emails and mail in a timely mannerh. Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare recordsi. Input data into patients healthcare records as necessaryj. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriatelyk. Conduct system searches as requestedl. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all timesm.
