We are a small GP Practice based in S2 and we have approximately 4000 patients.We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic Receptionist to join our friendly team.This will be for 25 hours per week, plus sickness and holiday cover, with the flexibility to cover shifts between Monday - Friday 830-6pm when required.Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant should have excellent customer service skills and be flexible to cover their share of holiday and sickness when required.General Practice experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.The post is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and DBS check.About usWe are a small GP Practice based in S2 and we have approximately 4000 patients.You will be joining an existing Reception team consisting of four Receptionists.DetailsDate posted20 August 2025Pay schemeOtherSalaryDepending on experienceContractPermanentWorking patternPart-time, Job shareReference numberA5499-25-0006Job locationsNorfolk Park Health Centre227 Park Grange RoadSheffieldS2 3TAJob descriptionJob responsibilitiesSummary of RoleTo provide a high standard Reception Service to the Patients, including ensuring that enquiries are promptly, efficiently, and courteously handled.Reception DutiesBe responsible for the opening and closing of the premises in the morning and evenings, including setting the alarm system, with the other members of staff.Monitor Reception and Waiting Room areas, including making patients aware of late running surgeries.Acknowledge and arrange Patient appointments.Process prescription requestsHandle in-person/telephone enquiriesLiaise with GPs and Practice staff regarding patient issues.Liaise with Hospitals re patient blood results/queries etcUpdate computer and manual records, as necessaryOpen, stamp and distribute the Internal Post by scanning onto SystmOneProvide cover for other Reception staff when necessary.Other duties within the scope of the role as may be agreed from time to time.
