- Implementing and managing nutrient mitigation projects to reduce the impact of Phosphate within the River Lambourn catchment in accordance with Habitat Regulations requirements.
- Working with stakeholders and statutory partners to deliver mitigation projects to help enable the delivery of new housing development (as appropriate) within the catchment area.
- Developing and managing a nutrient credit platform and seek opportunities for enhanced ecosystem service delivery.
- Monitoring and reporting on the delivery of nutrient mitigation projects.
- Collaborating with external partners, such as landowners and conservation organisations, to deliver the Council’s objectives for nutrient neutrality in the River Lambourn Catchment.
- Providing expert technical advice and guidance to the Council’s planning service, to support the assessment of planning applications under the Habitat Regulations.
- Assisting in the development and delivery of awareness-raising activities and communications on nutrient mitigation with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of nutrient pollution, its causes, and ecological impacts.
- Experience in implementing nutrient mitigation projects.
- Knowledge of developing and managing a ecosystems services credit platform.
- Familiarity with planning processes and the ability to provide effective advice to planners.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
