Contractual hours: 37Package:Fixed termJob Description:Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families?West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Publicity and Recruitment Officer to join our Family Placement Team, Fostering. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the recruitment and placement of foster carers, ensuring that children in our care receive the support and nurturing they need to thrive.The RoleAs the Publicity and Recruitment Officer, you will work closely with the Team Manager to:
  • Implement effective recruitment strategies to attract new foster carers
  • Develop and deliver engaging publicity materials to promote fostering
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to maximise recruitment opportunities
  • Monitor and evaluate recruitment activities, providing regular reports on progress
  • Support the Team Manager in ensuring high-quality placements for children in care
  • This role is essential in driving the successful recruitment of foster carers, ultimately leading to improved outcomes for children and young people in West Berkshire.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
  • Experience in a similar role, with a good understanding of fostering and the challenges involved
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate potential foster carers
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
  • Creative flair, with the ability to produce engaging publicity materials
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
