Support Young Learners. Build Brighter Futures.Teaching Personnel is recruiting for Behaviour Support Mentors to work in primary schools across Penzance and surrounding areas.These are vital roles supporting pupils aged 4–11 who may find school challenging due to behavioural, emotional, or social needs. You will work alongside class teachers and support teams to help these pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.Who We’re Looking For:To be eligible for this role, you must hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant area such as:Supporting Teaching and Learning in SchoolsEarly Years EducationChildcare and EducationPrimary Education Support (or equivalent)We are looking for individuals who are:Calm, patient, and confident in working with young childrenSkilled in managing behaviour and promoting positive routinesPassionate about helping children develop emotionally and sociallyFlexible and able to adapt to different pupils' needsCommitted to building trusting relationships with children and staffWhat You’ll Be Doing:Supporting individual children or small groups within the classroomHelping pupils manage their emotions and behaviour positivelyAssisting with learning activities and classroom routinesSupporting with transitions, regulation breaks, and calming strategiesWorking with teachers and pastoral staff to track pupil progress and set goalsCreating a nurturing, safe, and structured environment for learningExperience We Welcome:In addition to your Level 3 qualification, relevant experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial:Primary education supportSpecial educational needs or learning difficultiesMental health or emotional wellbeingBehaviour mentoring or pastoral supportYouth work, early years settings, or residential childcareSports, creative, or outdoor-based educationWhat We Offer:A competitive daily rate of £90 – £105, paid weeklyFree CPD training, including behaviour management and safeguardingOngoing support from a local consultant who understands the primary education sectorLong-term placements with the potential for permanent contractsOpportunities across Penzance and the wider West Cornwall areaSafeguarding Information:All applicants must meet the necessary safeguarding standards, including:A valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checkReferences covering recent childcare or education workOnline checks as part of our safer recruitment process

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
