
Weekend Housing Support Worker – Young People’s Services

- Provide housing advice and support to help young people sustain their accommodation and plan for independent living.
- Ensure the safety and security of the building and its residents at all times.
- Engage with young people in a supportive, respectful, and proactive manner.
- Monitor and record changes in behaviour or circumstances, maintaining accurate records.
- Respond to emergencies and safeguarding concerns, referring to appropriate services.
- Carry out room and building checks, reporting repairs and ensuring health and safety standards.
- Support with arrears management and promote responsibility around rent payments.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including communal areas and void units.

- Experience working with young people or in supported housing (paid or voluntary).
- Understanding of issues such as homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, and safeguarding.
- Knowledge of housing and welfare benefits.
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
- A Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards one) in youth work, health and social care, or a related field.
- Desirable: Mental Health First Aid, safeguarding training, knowledge of Ofsted supported accommodation regulations.
