The senior clinical fellow will be an integral part of the acute medical workforce involved in the clinical reviews of Day 2 and Day 3 patients.The post is for 12 months and will provide excellent training in the management of the common and important presentation normally seen in acute medical setting and give insight into the management of acute ill patients.The post would be an excellent preparation for specialist training post. It will be a 9am-5pm job with one long day (4 hours) per week. The work pattern is flexible.Main duties of the jobYou will undertake the following duties:o Clinical reviews of Day 2/3 Medicine referred patients.o Clinical decision making around discharges.o Ensuring ward jobs are carried out as planned on the post take ward rounds by consultants.o Clinical review of sick patients and stabilise and escalate as appropriate.o Provide senior support to junior medical team memberso Perform basic medical procedures as required.About usAt Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, you will work as part of a collaborative, friendly and caring team where you will be valued for who you are.   • At least 18 months UK experience in Acute Medicine or General Internal Medicine months with acute medical oncalls (SHO or/and Registrar).
Desirable
  • Completion of core medical training or equivalent
  • Experience in Acute Medicine as medical registrar
  • Computer Literacy
  • Experience of required practical procedures
