  • This is anapprenticeship, so applicants must haveresided in the UK for 3 years or more.
  • Due to funding rules, we can only accept candidates whohave not previously worked as a Senior Healthcare Support Worker.
  • Applicants mustnot hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in healthcare.
Main duties of the jobAs a Senior Healthcare Assistant Apprentice in ourAcute Medicine and Emergency Department, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients during critical moments in their care journey. You'll be trained to deliver a wide range of clinical and personal care duties under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals, including:
  • Supporting patients with hygiene, toileting, and mobility
  • Assisting with catheter and stoma care
  • Monitoring patient output and removing catheters
  • Taking and recording vital signs and blood sugars
  • Observing patients for changes in condition
  • Assisting with wound care, dressings, and venflon removal
  • Supporting safe patient movement and positioning
  • Maintaining skin integrity and assessing pressure areas
