
Utility Asset Protection Survey Manager

- Managing all utility PAS 128 surveys to support the project's master utility model.
- Leading and developing a team of Utility Survey Engineers to ensure accuracy, reliability, and safety of survey data.
- Coordinating with survey, design, and construction teams to ensure compliance with HSG47, GS6, PAS128, PAS256 and Balfour Beatty procedures.
- Producing and managing 2D/3D/4D/5D models, CAD/GIS overlays, annotated PDFs and digital datasets.
- Validating survey data, updating the Common Data Environment, and issuing live drawing information to support safe permits to dig.
- Providing technical guidance to service locators and surveyors when additional expertise is required.
- Driving innovation and digital coordination to support our 25 by 2025 initiative - reducing site-based construction activity through smarter, safer, and more efficient approaches.
- Supporting the development of junior survey engineers, sharing good practice, and embedding “Safety by Design” in everything you do.
- Significant experience of managing utility survey works and data in accordance with PAS128 and PAS256.
- QCF Level 5 (Diploma in Utility Mapping and Surveying)
- Significant experience in working with and adhering to Statutory Undertakers protection protocols.
- Able to validate survey data, identify clashes and advise on issues with service drawings and live site markups.
- Competent in the use and management off Sevey equipment, including GPS, Total Station, GPR and CAT and Genny
- Knowledge of the dangers and control measures associated with Avoiding Danger from Services HSG47 and GS6.
- Experience of managing survey data throughout the project life cycle
- Experience of resource planning, management of Surveyors and mobilisation of works to maintain site expectations.
- Firm understanding of and belief to drive health & safety principles in line with Balfour Beatty's Zero Harm philosophy
- Comprehensive understanding and experience of a wide range of construction techniques and best practices, specifically regarding service avoidance.
- Computer competence (E-mail, MS word, excel & intranet)
- Thorough understanding of CAD Packages used in Large Route maps , detail design drawings in a Utility & Civils Environment
- 25 days paid annual leave (pro rata)
