Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment in Ballykelly. This role plays a crucial part in shaping and embedding a proactive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture within a fast-paced switchgear production facility.The successful candidate will lead HSE strategy and compliance efforts, championing initiatives that prioritise safety, sustainability, and operational performance.Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and internal policies.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and document findings.
- Develop, review, and maintain risk assessments and method statements.
- Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures.
- Deliver HSE reports and performance metrics at management meetings.
- Investigate incidents and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety records.
- Organise and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and induction briefings.
- Act as the primary contact for internal audits, regulatory bodies, and external inspections.
- Monitor and report on accidents, near-misses, and compliance KPIs.
- Contribute to the development and testing of emergency response plans.
- Oversee the availability and appropriate use of PPE across departments.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE management systems.
- Promote behavioural safety and a culture of continuous HSE improvement.
- Provide coaching, support, and leadership on safety matters across all departments.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior H&S role within a high-volume manufacturing or engineering environment.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent recognised safety qualification.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Demonstrated success in driving a safety-first culture across teams.
- Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
- Early finish on Fridays (12pm)
