- Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across English courses (Functional Skills, GCSE, and potentially A Level or Access programmes).
- Plan, prepare, and assess lessons to support student progression and achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring content is relevant and up to date.
- Support students in developing literacy, critical thinking, and employability skills.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to create an inclusive and inspiring learning environment.
- Engage with parents, carers, and external stakeholders to support learner success.
- A degree in English, English Literature, Linguistics, or a related subject.
- A recognised teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
- Strong subject knowledge across GCSE and Functional Skills English.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Experience supporting students with additional learning needs (desirable but not essential).
