We are recruiting a Legal Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.Working hours: 37
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Penallta House / Home working / Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.Team: Legal ServicesThis position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.We pay an attractive salary of £25,583 - £25,989 and offer access to training and development opportunities.To provide an efficient, effective and confidential administrative support service to the Child Care team. You will be required to work closely with Legal Services Child Care team in the provision of advice to Social Services on all matters concerning the administration of the Child Care team.The successful candidate will be responsible for: -The preparation and distribution of evidence bundles for trial to include third party redaction.Monitor invoices received in relation to professional and expert fees. Involves liaising with external barristers’ chambers and experts such as Consultants and ensuring prompt payment.Responsibility for processing internal recharges in respect of expert’s fees in child-care cases.Assisting case workers in the department’s Child Care Team with obtaining and distribution of evidence and preparation of applications.Ensuring all reference material used by case workers is updated as soon as practicable following notification from the publishers.For the role, we ask that you have:
  • Minimum 5 GSCEs Grades A*–C including English Language or equivalent Level 2 qualifications on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. Or relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience of providing extensive administrative support to a busy legal department.
